Timbosite® takes a different approach by placing real timber at the heart of the material and using advanced engineering processes to enhance its performance for outdoor applications.

Unlike traditional timber boards, Timbosite® is specifically engineered to enhance strength, stability and longevity for outdoor applications.

Traditional timber is a natural material that can be more susceptible to changes in moisture, temperature and weather conditions. Timbosite® has been engineered to provide greater stability and durability while preserving the natural warmth, character and appearance of authentic wood.

The result is a low-maintenance outdoor material that combines the natural character of real timber with the benefits of engineered performance.

Our Classic range may experience a slight change in colour over time, particularly within the first few months after installation. As it is made primarily from natural poplar wood fibres, it may undergo minor weathering or softening of colour when exposed to sunlight, moisture, and outdoor conditions. This is a natural process and the colour typically stabilises once the material acclimates to its environment.

In contrast, our Elite range has been specially designed and manufactured to prevent UV-related colour loss. By using advanced UV stabilisers and premium pigments, the Elite range ensures long-lasting colour integrity and a more consistent appearance over time, even in direct sunlight.

Timbosite products are designed to be low-maintenance, but regular cleaning will help keep them looking their best.

Routine Cleaning:

• Use a soft-bristle brush or broom to remove loose dirt, leaves, and debris.
• Wash with warm soapy water and a sponge, mop, or soft brush.
• Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose (avoid using high-pressure washers on full power near board joints or edges).

For Stubborn Marks or Stains

• Use a mild household detergent or composite decking cleaner.
• For grease, oil, or food stains, clean as soon as possible with warm soapy water.
• For mould or mildew, use a diluted vinegar solution or an anti-fungal outdoor cleaner, follow the manufacturer’s guidance.

What to Avoid

• Do not use bleach, harsh chemicals, or abrasive scrubbers.
• Avoid metal tools or wire brushes that could damage the board surface.
• Avoid leaving wet items (e.g. flower pots or mats) in place for long periods, as this can cause temporary marks.

Yes, Timbosite® can be pressure washed with care. Use a low-pressure setting with a wide fan-spray nozzle, keeping it at least 30–40 cm from the surface.

Avoid high-pressure or narrow jets, particularly around joints, fixings and edges, as these may mark or damage the surface. Always test on a small area first.

Timbosite® is engineered specifically for outdoor environments and the demands of the British climate. Its engineered timber-based construction is designed to provide strength, stability and long-term performance through normal seasonal changes in temperature.

Expansion and contraction

Like most outdoor materials, Timbosite® will naturally expand and contract in response to changes in temperature. Appropriate installation, including the recommended spacing between boards, allows for this natural movement and helps maintain long-term performance.

Cold weather performance

Timbosite® is designed to remain stable and durable through normal cold-weather conditions, providing reliable performance throughout the seasons.

Warm weather performance

Timbosite® is engineered for outdoor use and designed to withstand normal changes in temperature and exposure to sunlight. As with any outdoor material, surface temperatures can increase in direct sunlight, particularly during periods of warm weather.

Following the recommended installation guidelines is important to ensure the best possible performance throughout the year.

Timbosite decking is designed with surface textures and materials that provide good slip resistance, even when wet.

• The natural wood fibre content combined with a textured finish helps create a surface that offers better grip compared to smooth plastic decking boards.
• While no outdoor surface can be completely slip-proof, Timbosite boards have been engineered to minimise slipping risks under typical wet conditions such as rain or dew.
• For added safety, especially in shaded or frequently wet areas, it’s important to keep the decking clean from algae or moss, which can make any surface slippery.

Yes. Timbosite® decking is designed for outdoor living and is a practical choice for family spaces, including areas where children play.

Its engineered timber-based construction provides a durable, low-maintenance surface designed for everyday outdoor use. The textured finish provides grip under normal outdoor conditions, while the surface is designed to retain the natural character and feel of timber without the maintenance associated with traditional outdoor wood.

As with any outdoor surface, appropriate installation and regular cleaning are important. Keeping the decking free from dirt, algae, moss and other debris will help maintain the surface and provide a well-maintained environment for family use.

We do not recommend painting or staining Timbosite® products.

Timbosite® is designed to provide a finished outdoor surface without the need for additional paint or stain. Applying additional coatings may affect the appearance and performance of the surface and is not recommended.
