Elite Composite Decking

Elite Timbosite Decking represents our second-generation innovation, featuring an advanced outer skin designed to significantly enhance UV protection and durability.

Building on the solid core of our Classic decking, Elite decking incorporates a specially engineered surface layer that shields the board from sun damage, fading, and surface wear.

The protective outer skin extends the lifespan of the decking by preserving its natural timber appearance and texture even in harsh weather conditions. The Elite board retains the strength, stability, and eco-friendly benefits of our original product, whilst offering superior resistance to colour degradation and surface scratches.

Perfect for customers seeking long-term performance combined with a premium finish, Elite Timbosite decking is ideal for both residential and commercial outdoor spaces, delivering beauty, resilience, and minimal maintenance year after year.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Timbosite decking, cladding, and fencing boards are wood composite products made primarily from Poplar wood fibres combined with a minimal amount of recycled HDPE plastics, along with technical additives for UV protection, colour stability, structural strength, and sometimes fire resistance. The result is a durable, low-maintenance board that closely mimics the appearance of natural timber, while offering enhanced longevity and environmental efficiency.

A Timbosite board is fundamentally a timber-based product that incorporates the performance characteristics of a composite board.

Made primarily from sustainably sourced Poplar wood fibres, with minimal recycled plastic content and advanced technical additives, Timbosite offers the natural look and feel of timber while delivering the durability, low maintenance, and weather resistance typically associated with composite materials.

In essence, it bridges the gap between traditional timber and full wood–plastic composites — combining the aesthetic and environmental appeal of real wood with the enhanced stability and longevity of modern composites.

Our Classic range may experience a slight change in colour over time, particularly within the first few months after installation. As it is made primarily from natural Poplar wood fibres, it may undergo minor weathering or softening of colour when exposed to sunlight, moisture, and outdoor conditions. This is a natural process and the colour typically stabilises once the material acclimates to its environment.

In contrast, our Elite range has been specially designed and manufactured to prevent UV-related colour loss. By using advanced UV stabilisers and premium pigments, the Elite range ensures long-lasting colour integrity and a more consistent appearance over time, even in direct sunlight.

Timbosite products are designed to be low-maintenance, but regular cleaning will help keep them looking their best.

🧼 Basic Cleaning (Routine Maintenance)

  • Use a soft-bristle brush or broom to remove loose dirt, leaves, and debris.
  • Wash with warm soapy water and a sponge, mop, or soft brush.
  • Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose (avoid using high-pressure washers on full power near board joints or edges).

🧽 For Stubborn Marks or Stains

  • Use a mild household detergent or composite decking cleaner.
  • For grease, oil, or food stains, clean as soon as possible with warm soapy water.
  • For mould or mildew, use a diluted vinegar solution or an anti-fungal outdoor cleaner — follow the manufacturer’s guidance.

⚠️ What to Avoid

  • Do not use bleach, harsh chemicals, or abrasive scrubbers.
  • Avoid metal tools or wire brushes that could damage the board surface.
  • Avoid leaving wet items (e.g. flower pots or mats) in place for long periods, as this can cause temporary marks.

Timbosite boards are engineered to perform well under a wide range of temperatures, thanks to their composite nature combining Poplar wood fibres and recycled HDPE plastics with stabilising additives.

🔥 Expansion and Contraction

  • Like all composite and timber products, Timbosite boards will expand slightly when heated and contract when cooled.
  • This natural thermal movement is minimal and accounted for in installation guidelines, which recommend leaving appropriate gaps between boards to accommodate expansion.

❄️ Cold Weather Performance

  • Timbosite boards remain stable and strong in cold conditions, resisting cracking or warping that can affect natural timber.
  • They do not become brittle in freezing temperatures due to their composite makeup.

☀️ Heat Resistance and Surface Temperature

  • The boards are designed to withstand high outdoor temperatures without deforming.
  • Unlike many standard composite boards, Timbosite products do not hold heat, meaning their surface stays cooler and more comfortable underfoot in direct sunlight.
  • This makes Timbosite a great choice for outdoor spaces where barefoot comfort is important.

Timbosite decking is designed with surface textures and materials that provide good slip resistance, even when wet.

  • The natural wood fibre content combined with a textured finish helps create a surface that offers better grip compared to smooth plastic decking boards.
  • While no outdoor surface can be completely slip-proof, Timbosite boards have been engineered to minimise slipping risks under typical wet conditions such as rain or dew.
  • For added safety, especially in shaded or frequently wet areas, it’s important to keep the decking clean from algae or moss, which can make any surface slippery.

Yes, Timbosite decking is very child friendly and a great choice for families. Here’s why:

  • Smooth, splinter-free surface: Unlike traditional timber, Timbosite boards don’t splinter, reducing the risk of cuts and scrapes.
  • Slip-resistant texture: The board’s natural wood fibre content and textured finish help provide good grip, making it safer for kids running or playing, even when wet.
  • Durable and impact resistant: Timbosite boards are tough and won’t easily dent or crack from the usual bumps and knocks kids might cause.
  • Low maintenance: Easy to clean and resistant to mould, mildew, and staining — perfect for messy play!
  • Non-toxic materials: Made from sustainably sourced wood fibres and safe additives, ensuring no harmful chemicals are present.
  • We do not recommend painting or staining Timbosite products.
  • Timbosite boards are specially manufactured with factory-applied pigments and UV stabilisers to provide long-lasting colour and protection without the need for additional coatings. Painting or staining can interfere with these built-in properties and may void the product warranty.
  • For the best results and longevity, simply follow the recommended cleaning and maintenance guidelines to keep your Timbosite products looking great over time.
