A Timbosite board is fundamentally a timber-based product that incorporates the performance characteristics of a composite board.

Made primarily from sustainably sourced Poplar wood fibres, with minimal recycled plastic content and advanced technical additives, Timbosite offers the natural look and feel of timber while delivering the durability, low maintenance, and weather resistance typically associated with composite materials.

Our Classic range may experience a slight change in colour over time, particularly within the first few months after installation. As it is made primarily from natural Poplar wood fibres, it may undergo minor weathering or softening of colour when exposed to sunlight, moisture, and outdoor conditions. This is a natural process and the colour typically stabilises once the material acclimates to its environment.

In contrast, our Elite range has been specially designed and manufactured to prevent UV-related colour loss. By using advanced UV stabilisers and premium pigments, the Elite range ensures long-lasting colour integrity and a more consistent appearance over time, even in direct sunlight.

Timbosite products are designed to be low-maintenance, but regular cleaning will help keep them looking their best.

🧼 Basic Cleaning (Routine Maintenance)

• Use a soft-bristle brush or broom to remove loose dirt, leaves, and debris.
• Wash with warm soapy water and a sponge, mop, or soft brush.
• Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose (avoid using high-pressure washers on full power near board joints or edges).

• Use a mild household detergent or composite decking cleaner.
• For grease, oil, or food stains, clean as soon as possible with warm soapy water.
• For mould or mildew, use a diluted vinegar solution or an anti-fungal outdoor cleaner — follow the manufacturer’s guidance.

⚠️ What to Avoid

• Do not use bleach, harsh chemicals, or abrasive scrubbers.
• Avoid metal tools or wire brushes that could damage the board surface.
• Avoid leaving wet items (e.g. flower pots or mats) in place for long periods, as this can cause temporary marks.

🔥 Expansion and Contraction

• Like all composite and timber products, Timbosite boards will expand slightly when heated and contract when cooled.
• This natural thermal movement is minimal and accounted for in installation guidelines, which recommend leaving appropriate gaps between boards to accommodate expansion.

• Timbosite boards remain stable and strong in cold conditions, resisting cracking or warping that can affect natural timber.
• They do not become brittle in freezing temperatures due to their composite makeup.

• The boards are designed to withstand high outdoor temperatures without deforming.
• Unlike many standard composite boards, Timbosite products do not hold heat, meaning their surface stays cooler and more comfortable underfoot in direct sunlight.
